I've got lots of computer experience, and I've run Steam for years. I have absolutely no idea what you did to fix it though!  pc is mucked up, I have win xp sp3 and yesterday I had windows updates and it was stuck at "installing update 23 of 113" and would not progress, now when I started up again today and tried to shut down it again was saying "installing update 23 of 113" left it for ages and no progress so I have to break my pc now to turn it off is there any way to fix this? _________________

Run Windows Update from the start menu rather than having updates installed when shutting down. _________________ My Flickr PageNow with added ball and chain.

That was my understanding. You actually have to de authorise the first account.
