Wisdom teeth, if impacted, can be a serious affair. You do have my sympathies Jon. I've had root canal work too. Now that can be fun. A drill flexible enough to follow the path of the nerve, but could still break at any time… and you are conscious.

I had mine extracted by a friend of my Dads. He was a maxilofacial surgeon though. Still a bit odd having a family friend's fingers in your mouth holding a scalpel, then encouraging you to pull against his pliers. In all honesty though, the worst part for me was the stitches. Like having a thread in your mouth bothering your tongue. Irritating, but that was honestly about the limit of the discomfort. Fingers crossed mate!

Why is time going backwards?
Why is it not 1pm already?

Because I am a massively fat bastard it's likely to be a local rather than a general, which could be fun given how much the bottom ones are growing into the back of jaw.

Deciding to opt out of playing an online game as it was becoming too time consuming.

You have my sympathy, although I had mine out when I was 17 and by general so it was no big deal, apart from the involuntary swallowing of tons of blood (probably about a teaspoonful) and then throwing it up afterwards. I also remember being bruised all round my neck and chest which I am still convinced is evidence of the Doc bracing himself against me with his foot as he pulled! It was the second time I'd had a general anaesthetic and set the precedent for all future occasions, I react to it the same way as my Dad which means that it now says in my notes that I have to be physically restrained as I go under and as I come back up, otherwise I get violent and lash out at helpful Doctors I had 2 route canals when I was much younger (about 11) which was the first occasion on which I punched someone out as I was going under general, nothing particularly uncomfortable there either. You'll be fine!

Having two of my wisdom teeth out at sixteen still ranks as one of my most miserable days over the best part of forty years. Much more so than a root canal two years back. Also just discovered that my house in Hampshire has flood damage. Not sure of the extent yet but pretty sure it will hurt my wallet. [LIFTED] you Mother Nature, [LIFTED] you.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Back to work today. If all of our patients who are booked in throughout the day attended in one block, we could have finished by midday.

Christmas Part Deux which is happening tomorrow with the arrival of my parents. I have two chunks of meat, various vegetable-y things, roast potatoes, gravy all the usual stuff apart from crackers which I couldn't find any of, I have Xmas napkins and special crockery and we'll be opening our presents tomorrow evening, things are mostly tidy and clean and they are staying with us until after lunch Tuesday so I need to figure out 3 things to do with them during Sunday, Monday days and Tuesday morning. Tuesday is easy, breakfast followed by a trip to the garden centre. We're considering Kenilworth Castle on Sunday which just leaves Monday to figure out. Edit: Ha! Just discovered a place called Baddesley Clinton which looks right up our street

MoD apologises as RAF poster angers Bloody Sunday families http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-25586694How the fudge was it up long enough not to have been burnt down? The MoD might be a pack of dicks in general, but they've every right to recruit. This is the same sort of small-minded thinking that sees idiots running around saying 'Derry-Londonderry', and provides succour to 'dissidents'* preying on weakness and the dumb. * A scumbag's a scumbag, I don't care what outfit they've got on.

Well I have moved my desk and was planning to watch the NFL on Channel 4 only to discover it is playoffs so no live matches on Channel 4. So will have to sit up tomorrow night to watch highlights instead.
