If you option-click the battery icon in the menu bar it'll tell you some basic info on the condition of your battery

keyboard brill it already had chrome loaded so browsing sorted just gotta figure out this touch pad

I imagine there's some dinky little demo videos in System Preferences > Trackpad to show the various gestures - I don't have Lion, but that's usually the place to look for these things like the Magic Mouse options (for that, look in the Mouse preferences). That should cover the system gestures, each app might have its own gestures too, such as iPhoto, Safari, etc, probably configured via their own Preferences. I'm sure there's a list of Lion's gestures on Apple's website somewhere. EDIT: Have a look on this page if you can't find them in System Preferences.
