Apple are just about contrary enough to put a '5' on the invites then say 'No, it's called the New iPhone' on the stage.

Maybe they're just announcing 5 new products:

1. The new iPhone
2. iOS 6
3. The new 7" iPad Mini/Nano (strongly rumoured)
4. New iPod range (usually refreshed in the autumn)
5. New 13" Macbook Pro with Retina Screen or refreshed iMacs (both rumoured to be in production)

:?:

It would be a right laugh if they announced five new products, and the iPhone wasn't one of them. (8+D

I would expect those at WWDC if they could, fit them between iOS announcements.

I've given up expecting them. Thinking I might go over to the mac mini. Tbh, they're as powerful as I need and with thunderbolt, they're now expandable.

Yeah, I'd agree. Interesting speculation from an unusual source though, so kudos.
