Apple are just about contrary enough to put a '5' on the invites then say 'No, it's called the New iPhone' on the stage.

Maybe they're just announcing 5 new products: 1. The new iPhone 2. iOS 6 3. The new 7" iPad Mini/Nano (strongly rumoured) 4. New iPod range (usually refreshed in the autumn) 5. New 13" Macbook Pro with Retina Screen or refreshed iMacs (both rumoured to be in production)

It would be a right laugh if they announced five new products, and the iPhone wasn't one of them. (8+D

I would expect those at WWDC if they could, fit them between iOS announcements.

I've given up expecting them. Thinking I might go over to the mac mini. Tbh, they're as powerful as I need and with thunderbolt, they're now expandable.

Yeah, I'd agree. Interesting speculation from an unusual source though, so kudos.
