I've just had lunch outside. Glorious sunshine and snow on the ground.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I don't believe it.
We've had about 3-4inches or so overnight. I'm so pissed off now. Today was supposed to be the first round of the new racing season!

I was worried looking out the window first thing, but all gone now. Tomorrow looks really bad though, with a hard frost over night and snow all day

*sniggers* Yeah, not even slush here now since it rained just after the snow, hope it doesn't freeze over though

I take back my previous comment. Went up to Corris to help with sleeper replacing (and killed my back in the process) and there was a nice layer of snow everywhere.

Right, joke over now OK? It was kind of exciting to drive through the heavy snow a few weeks ago, but this is getting ridiculous. The BBC's Sunday forecast on Saturday - sunny spells all day. Forecast this morning - sunny spells followed by cloud, drizzle and maybe a light sleet shower in the evening. Reality- snow all day, 3cm and still getting heavier. No sign of these mystical things I have heard of, called gritting lorries I believe. I'm not asking much, I'm talking about the fracking A1(M) and A19, not exactly side streets... At least I know the ABS and traction control are still in order, helped me to avoid spinning off the road even at 30mph

Man up. I had to drive a very packed car with myself and two mates from the Lake District to Aberystwyth in the middle of the last lot of snow. A 4-5 hour journey turned into a two day journey. And I don't have ABS. Or traction control. And I still made it back here.

We had a blizzard again yesterday, but most of it has gone again now.

So did I I'm annoyed at the forecast failure, not the driving challenge. Some advance notice would have been nice.

Would have been nice if there'd been any grit on any of the roads in the Lake District, North Wales or Mid Wales. Bloody idiots. ¬_¬ Seemed happy enough to shoot my hopes down in a hotel room in Corwen by informing me about more bad weather.. didn't appear to bother the local authorities. Bastards. >:-( That cost me a front tyre.

Man up yourself Driving down the M6 doesn't take much driving skill, it's mostly straight and very wide. Try taking a B road round the back of a town to join a single lane carriageway to join a dual lane carriageway because both local bridges were closed off due to the weather and rebuilding work. Then try doing it in heavy oncoming snow on a road you can no longer see the markings on and is filled with blind corners..... THAT is a driving challenge And I have ABS ( on a very large car) but no TC, and ABS is not much use in the snow/ice. Engine braking is much more effective
