Yo. I was thinking about this quite a lot yesterday, and had a quick perusal around the intarwebs this morning but no success.. I currently have quite catastrophic memory and concentration issues, to the point where I have to think quite hard to remember the day before, or even what day it is. Also work is suffering quite badly due to concentration issues. And I've not the foggiest idea where to start on sorting either or both of these out. I'm pretty sure memory could be helped with playing a few memory games in the morning and forcing myself to learn, but as for concentration I've not a damn clue where to start with that. Any suggestions/advice? Ta Weasel

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Concentration depends on the other issues you have going on in your life, or so I've found in my case. Doing stuff you are actually interested in helps too.

This is an area that I excel in, primarily because I do not have a great memory.
First mentally clear distractions. I find that any noise can be a distraction when I need to concentrate. Also take a walk for about half an hour, that will help you de-stress, use it to think about your problem.
Break problems into smaller easier to deal with problems.

Sounds like you need crucial memory.com(/uk).
Sounds really similar to how I was at the end of last year, when I had my rather spectacular FAIL (8'-()

I always get the same at this time of year.
Just finished one semester, and all the cramming/revising for exams and rushing/panicking for coursework.
Then the next semester starts one week later and I find myself unable to concentrate on it. I always feel really un-motivated at the start of the second semester, and completely un-interested.

I find it difficult to concentrate on things that bore me (like the robotics lecture this semester) or if something annoys me (like lectures by Mr Parry), because I find it hard to concentrate, I find it hard to remember later on. Things that do interest me or that I enjoy, I tend to keep in my head fairly well.
Suggestions for improvement? All the usual things, exercise more, make sure you've got a healthy diet, stop drinking alcohol, get a good nights sleep, etc.

This caused me to cough Relentless all over my laptop in the middle of the Delph. Thanks. Uhm, too expensive. Cheers, I'll give that a try. Alcohol is automatically out due to money. Excercise is provided by Penglais Hill, and immediately countered by Teh Union shop. Either way, need to sort my diet out, it's horrendously erratic. And yeah, His Parryness really could use with injecting either some interest or enthusiasm into his lectures. We had quite a spectacular argument with him, in a lecture, about his web dev assignment last year. He didn't take to it very well. I don't think a lot of the work I have going currently is helping, since it's rather dull. Also not entirely sure that my expected exam results - as pretty much divulged to a mate by a certain beardy member of CompSci staff - is helping motivate me much, since I've apparently failed the lot. (Ben, I'll give you three guesses as to who gave away such info ) Cheers guys, I'll give the suggestions a bash.

+1, even though I don't have a healthy diet or really get good nights' sleep , but I'd also add literally tidying up what's around you. It's surprising how much clutter affects your general mood Could just be me of course

I would presume it was one of his "I'm being serious" (not very funny) jokes. If it turns out to be true, I'd go see FWL about the matter.

If it was, I'll be having stern words with him. If not, I'll rip his balls off. I object to being used as the yardstick of fail.
