I'm not sure if such a thing exists, but I have a large collection of music, photographs and video clips on my Mac, which I really want to organise.
At the moment, I've split them into folders by topic, but one file could relate to many topics. For example, one photograph I have is a landscape at night, so I want to tag it as "Landscape" and "Night", and somehow be able to see all photographs with the same tags.
I believe iPhoto and iTunes can more-or-less handle the photography and music tagging respectively, but is there a solution for video clips, please?
Thanks,
Peter.

Smart folders?
I'm pretty sure you can add keywords to files - I've seen Pages asking me for some keywords for a file. So if you do that then you could create Smart Folders for files with certain tags -

Thanks, Nick.
I've had a quick look at Smart Folders and it seems to do what I need with no unnecessary software.

Upon closer inspection, I can't seem to get Smart Folders working the way I want them to.
I have all of my photographs in a single folder and have added Spotlight Comments on the information window, with keywords such as "Landscape" or "Ireland". When I try to set up a Smart Folder, which is a completely new thing to me, I have told it to find Spotlight Comments containing "Landscape", however it does not find any.
Does that make sense?
Peter.

It might also be worth noting that iTunes can handle some video formats...

Spotlight comments. Good overview here: http://www.macworld.com/article/58012/2 ... ments.htmlWith the added advantage that you can search for tags using Spotlight, obviously.

Thanks for all your help guys.
A combination of Nick's and SAughton's methods seem like the best solution.
Thanks again everyone!
Peter.
