I should have cloned it out for you Heather - my bad  Did you wish to remain anon this month? I think I might just be able to pull it off :D

Would that not constitute an illegal level of photo editing ? ;)

Mmmmmm - that's an interesting question! All you are doing is erasing a faffing great dust spot (in essence) and returning the edited pic to a closer copy of the original. This is allowed :D However, if a copyright sig is cloned by a separate part of the pic which is substantially different to the image underneath the sig, then that would constitute a material variation and not be allowed. I think the way round this is to block out any sig with a black rectangle although how we deal with watermarks is another matter...

Just a gentle reminder peeps that the comp closes on Sunday at midnight (28th). There's some superb entries so far but it's always worth submitting as you never know :D

Al, your Rules state
Quote:
* Only very light editing is allowed. Adjustment of Levels, Colour Correction, Contrast, Sharpening and Cropping is allowed.

With respect, which of the five editing methods includes cloning :?

The very first one - light editing - although only if applied to copyright is already on the image. Interpretation of the 'rules' is fairly loose - like this one for example:

* Go out and take a photo, fitting in the theme and rules.

Judging by the exif info on some of the submissions I've had in the past year it's 2006  It's almost impossible to detect cloning when used liberally and the literal application of too many rules defeats the purpose of the comp.

Have fun is what I say - just don't mess your image up with too much editing...

Al

Contrast has just been submitted.

The standard this month is exceptional. It proves everybody is thinking about the topic- some more seriously than others
