My 8 year old Creative 5:1 set are about to be retired. They have given excellent service but for a while now the volume control has been a pain, changing volume all by itself. Soooo I'm looking for a new 2:1 set.

My youngest has a Logitech Z-4 set and seems to think they are pretty good. Any comments or rival sets you guys can recommend ?

They are used primarily for music btw.

Thanks

Logitech speakers at every price range have always impressed me (for their price) - I use them for Spotify and the like, much to the annoyance of everyone else in the house :D

Aego-M's are my choice of 2.1 speakers. They're designed for use as a small hi-fi/ipod system so they sound great with music.

Recommended to everyone I know and may be about to purchase a job lot for work. Superb bit of kit.

i have the G51s, they are pretty good for the money (if you can find them these days), but i wouldnt advise them for any dedicated audiophiles: i get a terrible humming noise from my subwoofer, nothing deafening, but enough to put me of buying them again, and the SQ isnt quite up to scratch with some sets from more audio-focussed manufacturers.

They look really very good. I'm now trying to think if there's somewhere I can use them

Hmmmmm The Aego-M's are a little on the expensive side. I think it's going to be the Logitechs.

Thanks anyway guys.

TK Maxx seem to have a stock of Philips gaming speakers at the minute (ive seen the same thing in a few different stores). They're the amBX 2.1 things with lights on or something. I'm sure they were fairly cheap.

I think it was these (but cheaper) http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/product ... -SGC5102BD

There's a kit that has a vibrating wrist rest and fans blowing air in your face too althought the review I read praise the lighting and audio tech and see the other bits as a gimmick.

They certainly are - Ewan bought a set having heard mine just the once.

I reckon there's enough on x404 with a set to command some kind of discount! 8-)

I'm a little late for this thread, probably, but I have Logitech Z4 speakers.

I was a little worried, considering my last two sets were Creative 5.1 bundles, but the Z4s are excellent.
