I can honestly see the Air being faded out if the iPad takes off.

That's pretty much what I wrote on the day the iPad was announced. Nothing's changed between then and now to make me revise that.

Apple's come loose in the box so you can position them yourself for maximum annoyance! I'm putting mine just off centre on the middle of the screen, to annoy my OCD side and make the device less usable!

Okay, that's the exception, but it's still a laptop which can be used as a day-to-day computer, depending on your needs. I simply can't see the iPad doing the same job. I see your point about the MB Air, but in the same respect I don't see the purpose of the iPad, other than the one good reason you suggested. :?

There are rumours you can get an extra-long-life battery, but it sticks out the back of your Rock, making it look slightly unsilghtly on the underside.
