*dances*
So, I guess people can get going about compiling stuff, looking for drivers, other help and bits...Would even ben good to see others in here that use Windows or OS X but want help with OpenOffice or other things...

It's ok, OSX is welcome, but they have a forum of their own. There is still a thriving freeware/foss community making apps for OSX - for instance my favourite RAW converter - Rawstudio - is linux and OSX only - no Windows version.

Underneath OS X is UNIX (though Apple have broken it somewhat), which means it's not a whole world away (underneath) from Linux... Plus Apple do contribute somewhat. Don't the control the development of CUPS now? Not like those queer Windows users :wink

The difference is mainly that linux and proper BSD/solaris distributions are open - not locked down in any way. I love the flexibility of being able to swap between window managers whenever I feel like and to add new and interesting repositories and browse "add/remove programs"! CUPS is now Apple? Whatever next - Apparently they hired the developer and bought the code. Hope they don't do anything silly/anti-competitive - it's still under the GNU GPL license though. I wouldn't call what apple do "contributing" more like "buying up".
