She's not lost. She is under the patio.

Dunno. Haven't met anyone since the ex that's been up to much. I always feel like 'she'll do' which isn't really fair to anyone. So I tend not to bother. Would life be easier had I not been with her? Perhaps. Would I feel less fulfilled had I not been with her? I don't know.
I think either way's good. You miss the highs of romance, but some of the lows can be a killer.

A big yes. I had my first love at 16, second love at 30, third and fourth loves at 31 and I found Tina when I was 39. Numbers 3 and 4 were psychotic, at different ends of the scale, and pretty much destroyed my life. Even now, after putting my life back together, I look back on the torture I went through with number 3 and remember her fondly. I still think about number one now and again, I wonder what she is doing these days (I know number 3 is dead ). I still stay in contact with number 2. The times in between were lonely and often painful, but I'd never want to give up the memories and they spurred me on to eventually find Tina. She still can't believe I love her and want to be with her. I can't believe how lucky I am to have found her.

Not sure that I can answer this, in that I've only ever been out with one person and still haven't split up with them (and we're getting married in about 5 months ). However, being single for a long time wasn't a particularly fun experience in that regard.

Good luck man. I've only been in love twice. But both times ended soul-shatteringly badly for me. I'm reluctant to ever do it again, but I'd still stand by my vote. It's definitely better to have had the experience.

Hurts every time things go moobs-up eh? All-in-all, better to have had the experience though.

I've thought I was in love twice before, but meeting Red has taught me that I never was.
The key was not being bothered at all when we split up, I've never shed a tear when breaking up with either of the two "serious" realtionships (13 years and 4 years respectively) but I had a dream when Red and I started living together, that he'd broken up with me, I was completely devastated and woke up in tears. We'd only been together about 6 months by then.
Better to have loved and lost, definitely.

I've had a similar situation, the other way around. I didn't think I was in love, and thought that if we ever broke up I would be fine - well then we broke up and I was in tatters. Now I'm in a similar situation to Prof, and anyone else I meet just seems crap in comparison. I guess that means I still love her.

Without one failed relationship under your belt, you are probably not well enough equipped to deal with it when a good one comes along.
