It had to be Prince Philip. The Foreign Office will breath a sigh of relief when he pops his clogs. Though he makes these gaffes I still think that keeps the press busy.

I kind of get the feeling that he’s coming from a Cholmondley Warner era where quips like that were slightly more commonplace. He’s just a man out of time, with no reverse gear.

I would think that as he does not have to worry about getting ahead he can say pretty much as he wants. Everyone else may want to avoid annoying some future boss.
