I'm sick to the back teeth of seeing Renault Meganes - I wouldn't be surprised if the police started writing off hit and runs saying, 'Look if all you can tell us was it was a Megane and you didn't see the the plate you've no chance.'

I'd also stick the new alfa 8c on that list. Gorgeous car, ridiculously pretty. I'd post a pic I took of one, but i'm skiving at work, on my mobile.

As nobody here will care about it at all, I'd like to stick up for the 300. I drove several thousand miles in the V6 through the mountains and deserts of CO, AZ, NM and UT and it's a great car. Superb drivers car and genuinely does bring back memories of when American cars looked different. The PT Cruiser tried the same thing and failed miserably, but there's definitely something about the look and feel of the 300.

I like the 300 - I always thought it reflected Daimler styling as much as American tastes.

I've been thinking about the 300c. It holds its value better than a lot of the mid range competition from the likes of bmw. And I do quite like the styling; it's a change from the ubiquitous euro boxes. And they're not slow either.

Yes but the Morris Minor is a classic but not from the last ten years.

I think it's more a comment of what makes a "classic" car, i.e. NOT that it's flashy, expensive or exclusive like all the cars in the OP survey seem to be indicating.

The main point being that there isn’t a car of the Morris Minor type that qualifies from the last 30 years, let alone the last 10. Any modern cheap utility car looks so drab, dull, lifeless and uninteresting that it would never find its way onto a list, unless it was a list of drab, uninteresting and boring looking cars. This is a result of bowing to focus groups far too often. The Morris Minor comes from a time when each car maker had a unique style, and you could tell them apart at 100 paces. Cars like that were designed to be aspirational and unique. Today, this is not the case.

I'd agree with those (esp. the Brabus version of the Roadster), but I'm wavering over the Insight. It's a bit obscure, but maybe that'll be it's trump card.
