It's getting near that time of the year when my computer is full of important stuff and WILL DIE without warning.
Anyone knows of a good site to store in an organized manner files for day to day access?

Dropbox is good. You get 2GB for free. So it does - I have "24.89 GB available". I've not tested it with linux and it would be most remiss of me to speculate on such matters. I could at best give an extrapolation that it's behaviour on certain machines would suggest that there is a possibility that it may also follow suit on other operating systems for which it is available.

Dropbox is amasing on Mac/Linux. Can't comment on the Windows version, because I don't use it. I use it for development - because I am developing an application that runs over a network, it has to be tested on a number of machines at the same time. I develop on my Mac, so I just compile it there on my Mac and within a couple of seconds the new .class files are available to run on my Linux testing machines.  _________________

I think you need online BACKUP rather than STORAGE. I use Mozy. It provides 2gb of space for free, you just tick boxes so it backs up files you need to be backed up and it even allows you access the previous version of those files. Once you set it up you can forget it. It will back up as often as you need it to or just when the pc is idle. It rewards referrals with 256mb so please use the link I provided. It even works on Macs.

Another good place for storage seems to be Adrive https://www.adrive.com/50gb free storage space, and a good download speed (I have not checked the upload speed yet).

Worked fine, until I subscribed, then it stopped working!  They ignored my first 4 emails, then I started bad mouthing @carbonite and got a direct email address, but I've been busy since and haven't had time to get the issue sorted...
