I used to be a Chicken Jalfrezi man, and still love the stuff, but of late I aim more toward Chicken Shashlik and other tandoori-style dishes. I always get a sag aloo - and always only ever buy pilau rice and plain naans (I don't rate any of the perverted concoctions of rice or "special" naans). When we get curry at our house it will also mean the above and alike equivalents in similar quantities per person as we're BIG curry eaters - but if I was trying to conduct a more civilised affair for two, I'd probably go the route of a starter mix, certainly to encourage finger-food dining - and a shared main / rice combo... or even a biryinai to bulk out the smaller collection of starters. Lev, there was a curry house up the road from us that did a mango-based dish, it was sublime - but they closed down last summer and I've not found something similarly described since - don't suppose you can get the dish's name for me - for all I know it could be one of "those" you never order from a menu.

It's not on the take away menu as it's only on the all you can eat buffet on certain days. I'll see if I can find out next time I go, but that could be quite a while away yet.

Me and the missus share: 1 x main curry (pick from chicken Balti, Methi, Rogan Josh, Madras or Jalfreizi.... maybe Dopiaza), 1 x Pilau rice, 1 x Onion Baji (portion of 2), 1 x Garlic & Corriander Naan, a couple of podadums and some mango chutney. About £12-ish I think.

Lamb or chicken tikka with either Shatkora,Tiger Kahn or Makkani sauce - or Palak - just love spinach in curry Pilau rice and a plain naan with a side order of Okra. Went to Indian Cookery lessons many years ago and can now produce a passable curry of sorts. Have just signed up for more lessons Al

I do like spinach/saag dishes. I also like chickpeas/chana.
Does anyone else go for some of the other stuff? I quite like the yoghurt and prefer tandoori roti instead of naan bread.
