I hope it's better than the last one. That was a steaming CGI filled turd.

If the story had been better it would have been watchable. It was crass and ridiculous. The final battle sequence was awful.

Well it got bums on seats, just like Avatar. I doubt they would another sequel otherwise.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Woah, woah, woah!! Avatar is hardly Pirates

Between people who don't care for Star Wars and those who think Wolverine was good - this forum is filled with cultural luddites

Did anyone actually say they thought Wolverine was good? :?

And for the record, I think SW is OK, it just didn't set my world alight - I was more of a cartoons kinda person as a kid :D

I enjoyed both versions. I saw the pre post production version. It was fun with all the missing CGI. The story was okay until the end. Dead Pool was wasted as a character. The finished version was certainly watchable and it was fun seeing the extent of the CGI inserts.

Certainly did.

According to Wikipedia:

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is the 3rd highest-grossing film ever taking $1,066,179,725
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is the 7th highest-grossing film ever taking $960,996,492
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is the 42nd highest-grossing film ever taking $654,264,015

That's a lot of people who've paid to see some pretty poor films (or bought the DVDs, etc)

Uh-oh. Someone has mentioned Transformers. How long before this turns into a Megan Fox thread?

She already has her own thread, this is not the place for that.

Do you think that there is a Megan Fox equivalent of Godwin's Law?

You cannot possibly hate Avatar, Transformers and Wolverine enough to make any comparison with Pirates 3 invalid. You may dislike them. You may even think they were crap (I'm gonna allow that as it's a free country). However, Pirates 3 FFS?!!

Get a clue Mark.

Pirates 3 is worse than all of the aforementioned films.
