Inspired by this:

There's been books on informers over here that would make for some cracking central story/action-based games, same with the Andy McNabb novels, though the depictions could cause controversy...

The Alien Vs Predator novels would be excellent as you could show the action/plot through the three main character sets. The individual character novels are also good.

In graphic novels, The Boys (though it would be a brave developer, gore and sex are at a premium  ), Road to Perdition, The Crow.

What would you have, bearing in mind that many games now are as much about the story as the action? :)

Does the bible count?

Just imagine....kids would see more gore than a dozen GTA's, but there's no way Jack Thompson could try and get it banned; it'd be blasphemy!

It certainly does, though obviously there would be plot holes you could park a bus in. And continual updates to the updates

Those are my favourite books. Although I would much rather see several seasons of TV series rather than films, and I think a game would be too linear if you had read the books.
