Well we could get Vince as Chancellor who is clearly the most competent one in any of the parties. That alone would be a good reason.

They're only slim because

  1. people have decided that it must be so
  2. the media constantly make it a two horse race
  3. people don't get involved anymore

Remember that when Labour formed in 1900, the politics of the day was a two-horse race between the Liberals and the Conservatives. Labour's vote share didn't surpass the Liberals until 1918 and that because of a lot of hard work and the Liberals having a grand falling out.

If you want to get someone else in, you need to do something about it - join/start a party and get campaigning.
