There are plenty of English people who would take offence to being called British too. Is there a point coming? :?

I was hoping someone would have used the phrase “cork screw” by now, which would have lightened the tone (and possibly lowered it in a paradoxical kind of way).

Please don't take any guns, grenades or ammunition with you.

Not even a little hunting knife.

Seriously. It could become very not funny.

There's a bunch of the usual shops and retail outlets, mini shopping centres, same as any city/town in the UK really... Depends how you view such trips :)

Surely that's a good reason to go "meh"? If I go to a new city or country, I want to see what is different, I don't want to end up browsing the same shops I can at home and eating the same food... I want to explore the "local colour" and try local dishes in restaurants or pubs.

Yeah, but he's only going for one day, and if he's including travel time there and back... ;)

If you had been born in Belfast, there's about a 50% chance you could have been a Brit ;)

I think that the correct figure is 100% brit but nearly 50% would not like you calling them that. ;)
