Confirmed: Whedon On 'Avengers' Shortlist

http://www.latinoreview.com/news/confir ... tlist-9621

Gotta say, can't help thinking there's many more people out there who'd be better suited to the role, but I'd give him a shot over Hulk boy any day

Buried amongst all the comments on that story is one really good idea: hand over the directorial reins to Kerry Conran (Sky Captain), he'd have the right approach to the material.

Damn near anyone is a better bet than Anderson... You think of the (potential) franchises he's been handed in recent years and ruined, his stunning wife... I'm telling you, he's at least one of Bratty's Freemasons

Poor old Paul W.S. Anderson getting another beating :) . Sure he's made some clunkers but at least his version of Aliens V Predator (by no means a classic) is better than the sequel, Event Horizon was atmospheric and I thought Death Race did what it said on the tin, just like the Resident Evil movie which I thought was superior to, say, George Romero's recent efforts. Having a look around, it doesn't seem that Kerry Conran has directed anything since Sky Captain and that was back in 2004. Let's hope he gets the opportunity. Perhaps he can persuade Angelina Jolie to take the part of Wilma Deering?

AvP got unduly slated, but then you really have to fcuk up to ruin those two characters, which is what they did with the sequel. Where you couldn't really see anything. And the hybrid had giant Predator feet that looked like novelty slippers....

Event Horizon bored me to tears I have to say, and the action in Death Race was badly filmed so I didn't give a stuff

Resi... Had Jovavich, and that's about it ;)

Wilma Deering is actually my space wife from the future. So they better cast someone good.

Is Birdemic worst film ever made?

Watch this report and see! BBC Clicky

And it's not directed by Paul W.S. Anderson so there! It's not even Uwe Boll.

That falls into the 'so bad it's brilliant' category, which Anderson and Boll can't even manage cos of their pretensions

Get Smart 2 “ups the ante”

Quote:
Tony Scott has lined up Potsdamer Platz as his next film.

Intriguing title (it’s named after a Berlin landmark), what’s it all about? Well, the script was written by Buddy Giovinazzo, but was given a buff up last year by former writing team David Scinto and Louis Mellis.

It’s said to be based on the true story of the Jersey mob “when they tried to take over the construction business in Germany,” according to Scott.

Love the sound of that :D
