Often I'm reading a thread, finding I'm not logged in, so log in, to then get automatically taken to the index rather than back to the thread I was reading!
Any chance this could be updated to take you back to the page you clicked login on?

I'm not sure if its possible to be honest. You are two separate entities as far as the forum is concerned.

On sites I create, when the user clicks login, I pass the current page link to a variable, run the login (cookie, authentication, whatever) then return the browser back to the page viewed in the stored variable, seems quite straight forward. Most forum sites run something similar...

I open another tab with a news index and enter the password there. Then once the cookies have been reset I reload the other page.

Just did a quick bit of research, apparently you can do it by changing the redirects in ucp.php to: append_sid("$_SERVER[HTTP_REFERER]")... but phpBB isn't my area of expertise!
