The pope is at risk of being arrested only for those crimes which happened when he covered up incidents. He is not guilty all the other offences thrown at the Catholic Church. What is necessary is that all the Cardinals who covered up such incidents should be charged with perverting justice and sentenced accordingly. The priests themselves should be charged with any crimes that they committed. Though that should happen in the jurisdiction of where the crime was committed. That is not attacking the church itself.

He quite clearly has an agenda that goes beyond the simple absence of belief in a deity and as such isn't an atheist but rather an anti-theist - one who is opposed to religion in any form. I think that in his dogged refusal to accept that any religion can ever be valid, and in his over-stretching of science, he has adopted a position that is just as dogmatic, fundamentalist and ignorant as those he claims to oppose. Furthermore, I do find it slightly distasteful that, from what I've heard, he seems to be using this situation to advance his own worldview. However I'm not sure I'd go far as to call him a cock. I find his vigour, enthusiasm and passion to be admirable. To be honest, I actually quite like the chap.

That's very Christian of you I admire passion MORE than the next man. I don't have a lot of time for fundamentalist dogma, from anyone. That's my problem with him. The answer to many of the worlds problems could be found in a less aggressive and more consultative, tolerant approach. But hey, that's obviously just me.

Dawkins is too angry about religion for a true unbeliever, God's non existence shouldn't cause him so much anguish. One day he's going to convert just like Antony Flew.
Not that he'll be much of a loss to atheism, he might write best selling books on the subject, but the God Delusion is a notoriously retarded straw man argument and its author should be ashamed of himself because there's no way he got that thing published without somebody pointing this out to him. If he were honest, he would have burned the manuscript and stuck to doing science stuff.

Two words: diplomatic immunity. Pinochet's was invalid as he was retired. Plus the international courts had a warrant out for him. If you want to get at the church, people should leave en-mass.
