A flight took off from Biggin Hill yesterday.....small business-size jet which is quite common from our local airport. I've become so used to the quiet that I went outside to see what was going on. I didn't think any flights in the South East were permitted at the moment.

It would appear that the Wench is finally on the move. Instead of flying Lusaka - Heathrow, they'll be flying Lusaka - Madrid, getting the coach to Calais and then the Royal Navy across the channel. Somehow I doubt she'll be back today

It's all changed again; given the flight time they can probably land at Heathrow (the normal airport for the flight). However, they have just removed all the luggage from the plane as it was too heavy for the wind conditions or something similar. Understandably the Wench is a little stressed about that fact as there are several irreplaceable presents in there for people. Yes the luggage should follow on but an added worry.
She'll probably not get back to Taunton until about 2am, don't know yet if she'll stay there overnight or make her way back here. Either way I can see myself being knackered in work tomorrow.

Better still take it as a sign from God/s. I always remember in "The Man with Two Brains" when he asks his late wife for permission to marry and if she objects to send him a sign, any sign he will be looking and he completely overlooks the fact that her portrait is spinning around.

I just loved the bit that read "Lord Mandelson, secretary of state for whatever the f*ck he wants"

Extra flights and I've heard the possibility of night-time flights, which will be a right pain if it happens over here as I'll have planes flying overhead all through the night. (8+( Mark

My parents flight was booked for Thursday and it will probably be full. I wonder what the procedure will be? Those on booked flights go first and then those delayed get put on any spare seats?

Yup, AFAIK that is the protocol, those pre-booked on flights due to fly get first priority and those that have been delayed have to be moved around and squeezed on any spare spaces. Best to check with the airline though.
