Here is how it goes.
For the next 2 weeks, until the 5th of may, members of the forum are invited to post songs which they believe should be in a rock top 10 list.

They must be posted as follow

Full name of the band - Full name of the song

It would be seen as a plus to add a link to a youtube video of the song, official is best.

In two weeks I will compile the suggestions and heats will be organized until the top 10 is chosen.

Get suggesting! :D

Are you running this or Jon Lumb? Also, as has been pointed out, there is currently a forum poll running, but we can keep nominations open.

Actually, I can settle this right now.
Rocket From The Crypt were the worlds greatest rock 'n' roll band. Fact.

Orchestral rock?

ELO seems to have the show all to themselves, so let's nominate Evil Woman. I can think of a couple of other tracks that would fit nicely, but don't seem to have a YT following.

Don't mind on the running, happy to do it, happy for the Frenchun to do it. Frenchun, your call.

I'm going to have to think very, very carefully about my entries. Is there a cap on the number of songs we can nominate?

The more songs you nominate, the more heat there will be... in the end we'll still be down to 10 songs. I guess it's everyone's call on what is an "excessive amount" of nominations

I would hope so, with the many types of music that could be considered to be rock since the 50s, it would be one mighty poll otherwise.

I will ask everyone to only nominate songs they truly believe belong in a Top 10 rock list. Not just any all fancy they're thinking about at the time :)

also could the thread be stickied?

That would please Nick no end, so I'll not make that call.

I will give some further consideration to my preferred ELO track(s). The one above was the best of those available on YouTube.
