Evening all,

I'm supposed to be going back to work on Wednesday, (as that's when my sick note runs out) but there's no way I'm going back unless I'm 100%. Call me selfish is you like but I've been rough for nearly a month now and going back to work too soon is going to make me worse.

Anyway, time will tell but for now enjoy the rest of your Monday everyone.

:)

You mean a 'fit note'?:

IMO, what you've said shows just why this will be such a bad idea...

She's also sending me for some x-rays as there is some crackling in my chest... whatever the hell that means.

You should stop snorting the pork scratchings? :P

I think it means, when you breath in and out deeply there is a crackling sound in your chest. It means there's a load of crap in there, suggesting an infection or damage of some kind. The X-ray hopefully will not show that you have TB or Anthrax.

Good luck!

So far today I have mainly been administering Nagios (does anyone here use it?).
I really dislike the command line interface.

The GUI appears to work quite well (it did in testing before we payed out for Kasaya)

You have experience of it then?
I was mainly referring to the Terminal CLI as I've had to edit config files with it today.

It was in the running for our monitoring solution for about 3000 machines. I played with it for a few weeks with some test networks before we decided we didn't have the dev time available to customise it enough.

It's not a bad product for free (& the support contracts on it aren't badly prices either)

Working on getting a front-end for it now. (8+)

That it is, but I'm stuck in the office, until a brief bit of freedom at lunch.

And I bet it'll start piddling it down in Bath about 15:00 Friday...

Yes well, sometimes forbidden things help shift your frame of mind (before the guilt kicks in).

Our ICT department is not helping - I mean, just how difficult is it to reconnect the plotter to the network it has previously been connected to for the past ten years???
