From what I've been reading, there shouldn't be any major issues in this one.
Probably.

What the hell, here goes. :)

I thought it was out soon, I downloaded some X11 thing yesterday and it wouldn't let me install it without 10.5.7 :? Seemed odd, do developers get updates before us?

The point updates are seeded to developers, yes.

Well that took forever. Felt like the longest time for an update.
No Safari 4, I note. Still on Safari 3.2.3.
Other than that, Mail's prompting the 'Database Reset Alert' dialogue box, for some reason. :?
All else seems to ok so far.

729.2MB!! It's currently downloading at about 770Kb/sec, but the downloading is still going to take 15 minutes!

Only 450MB for me and it's going over 1 MB/s.

Ben, that must've been the combo updater because running Software Update on this G5 PowerMac tells me that 10.5.7 is 286 megs.
Still, I'll have to download the combo updater anyway. Thank goodness for a speedy work connection.

Mark

Yes, it was the combo updater. I had enough of having the odd problem here and there after doing an update through "Software Update", so I just download the combo now...

Once you’ve updated, run Software Update (again)—there’s a Safari 4 beta security update.

Just a word of caution...

If you have a Buffalo external hard drive, macfixit.com reports that the 10.5.7 update can stop Buffalo hard drives from mounting in the Finder. They suggest this is probably a firmware issue with the drives, but no fix as yet from Buffalo so if you have one of these drives, best hold off updating to 10.5.7 at the moment!

My Mac is really slow tonight (I updated this morning).
I've got more free memory than usual, I think OS X was keeping a lot in memory so things were faster, Finder seems horribly slow this evening :(

The new Safari install feels much quicker. Especially from first run after booting.

Same here. It launches before it's finished its first bounce on the dock!

Is it just me or has the strength of the wireless adapter somehow increased with this latest update?

I used to only be able to find my network within the search, but I now have at least half a dozen different networks in the list.

Peter.
