This is odd - the last couple of days, my mobile phone has been ringing, and when I reply the call gets cut off immediately. It’s happened once a day - yesterday and today. Oddly, someone else I know has had the same thing, and the number is the same for both of us. It’s a number neither of us recognise. So it’s obviously a machine doing the work.

Anyone else getting it? It an 07904 number.

I've had random calls a couple of months ago, can't remember the numbers, sometimes not showing and sometimes it would just stop.

Turned out to be a company trying to talk to me about my contract, as soon as I asked who they were they just said they were 'authorised', when pressed further they just hung up.

Could just be cold callers.

jonbwfc I was behind her in a queue today - but I wouldn't describe it as 'bushy'.

Can you register mobile with the TPS? If you can, try that.

I have had a withheld number trying to ring, but since my phone is set to block such calls I am not really affected. :D

Have you searched for the number? Is it on http://whocallsme.com/ ?

It's always possible you have a mutual friend with a new number. I know people who fail at locking their phones, with the result that their handbag often makes random calls as well as answering and cutting off incoming ones. This usually continues until they exhaust their credit.

It’s no one I know, and the number doesn’t show up on that site. They’ve stopped now.

I kept getting voice mails and missed calls from an 033 number. It turned out to be a debt collection agency-I'm guessing somebody gave them a false number which turned out to be mine.

When I told them nobody with the name they wanted had anything to do with the number they would just hang up and call back until I called them on a different number I found online and explained it.
