http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nott ... 643553.stmWe were just talking about what teachers used to get away with, but it was never that bad

Well....erm, that's a little extreme but I wish some of the teachers hit some of the kids when I went to school. Damn knows they deserved it.

Chalk Board Rubbers Board rulers Dowelling rods Gym Shoes Canes etc Were all things that teachers had to pass accuracy tests with in my day. Take a fly out of the air at the back of the classroom guaranteed every time.

To me at least, this is illustrative of the silly levels of stress that teachers are under.
You can only subject someone to so much pressure, humiliation, lack of support and threatening behaviour before they snap.

my dad has thrown a student's bag out of the class before and told him to leave of his own volition or he would follow. His first lesson was in a class with a knife holding students. then his current students are experts at chair throwing in direction of the blackboard, and regularly drop weed out of their pencil cases... We don't know the whole story. Teachers shouldn't lose temper but they are only humans and have limits too.

Yes I had to avoid these objects flying about. It made sure that you were paying attention.
