The worst I got was in '96. I was the smarty pants always answering the questions in maths (and just about every other room tbh). After getting all Mr. Mayle's questions right for a few goes and generally showing off, he shouted at me to shut up. I didn't, so he gathered a piece of blank A4 off his desk, scrunched it up in one hand, silently walked over to me and stuffed it in my mouth. I didn't know what the hell was going on. Felt embarrassed and pissed off at the time, but I learnt my lesson.

I'm sure this guy was at the end of his tether with the kid. Doesn't make it right, but there's a bigger picture here for sure.

The kids gave this teacher a hard time on purpose. The kid in question also said some nasty stuff intended to hurt or wind up the teacher (and kids can be right little c***s to be fair). He probably deserved a slap.

Screaming 'die die' whilst hitting his head with a weighty object might be going a little too far though.....

From what I heard on the news last night, the kids provoked him. They knew he was back from leave for stress, so I cannot see how it is attempted murder. Attempted manslaughter maybe but this was not premeditated by the teacher. Under these circumstances I would acquit the teacher.

PERMENANTLY I said. He's alright now isn't he? The guy needs a break. Sure he injured the kid and he's admitted it, but manslaughter or attempted murder - [LIFTED] off. Those kids need to learn a lesson here. The guy lost it and I already said there's no excuse, but the pressure these guys are under is immense. I've worked in classrooms with 6 and 7 olds and that's intense, teenagers are likely to be way worse.

People snap in different ways...One of my teachers ran across the room with his head down and head butted a pupil in the stomach...Then again he also slept with a number of pupils and drove a minibus of students while under the influence...Perhaps he wasn't cut out to be a teacher at all :?

I remember going on a school georgraphy trip to the beach - at lunchtime everyone sat down and opened up their bags. A few pupils pulled out cans of coke and cartons of drink whilst our teacher (not the driver though) pulled out a can of Carling.

The supervising teacher came over, took it off him and poured it away, but it was really funny. He left at the end of that academic year.

Both the kids and the teachers can be wild...

Teachers

One of our secondary school teachers kept vodka in his drawer and would knock the crap out of anyone who got remotely lippy with him. He also hung a bloke out the second floor window by his ankles.

I remember him coming in with a black eye one day, and I'd bet a parent gave it to him :D

Our 'married, middle-aged mother of two' French teacher never wore knickers and would happily sit at the side of the room with her legs open wide enough for horny young blokes to get a good look. And that was when she wasn't bending over provocatively...

Kids

Stealing the art teacher's wallet when he fell over due to a heart attack.

Mentally torturing a teacher until he was holding his knees, rocking in the corner.

Stealing the sauciest underwear available from the local washing lines and presenting it to the hot supply teacher in front of the whole class.

Dealing drugs for the paramilitaries and then getting 'RUC TOUT' (police informer) sprayed all over the school when the principal went to the cops.

Igniting the gas taps in the science rooms.

Downloading brilliantly funny porn on the computers, having to print it out in massive individual sections, before placing it behind the big curtain so everyone outside could see it.

 @Net Nanny

That last one was me

Right, so if someone winds you up enough you'll cave their head in with a barbell?

If you stoved in a childs face I'm sure everyone would understand...
