I could spend the rest of the week discussing potential alternatives (Godfather II springs to mind first), but I suppose it's difficult to comprehensively disagree with this.

As I just pointed out to someone else on my Facebook, the Godfather films bore me. Your mileage may vary.

*pout* That Mike Myers bloke's a flippin genius!! In all seriousniocity I preferred "Return of the Jedi," partly because of my unnatural need for a happy ending, but also because I prefer the story-telling method and fluidity of the film. I suspect there would be a lot of debate amongst movie buffs as to the "greatest" but I suppose that's why they release these things.

I loved the three Austin Powers films but the 2nd one was not quite as good if only because Elizabeth Hurley wasn't in it much My immediate reaction was that Aliens should be 'best sequel' until I saw Toy Story 2 in there. Game over. Empire is the best Star Wars film but all 6 of them are hampered by poorly written dialogue and shoddy acting. Billy Dee Williams for example...he's worse than Jar-Jar Binks.

Fair enough. To say they were rubbish would be patently untrue. But I can understand boredom. Although I love them, it makes sense.

Empire, T2, Dark Knight or Aliens I'd have been happy with.

T2 or Aliens yes, I didn't enjoy Dark Knight - it's the happy ending thing again as well as the fact that it felt very much like a "middle" movie, not a story in it's own right and it was so dark all the time I found it hard to keep up.

1) 2) Was it really a happy ending? The Bat taking the blame for Harvey Dent and going into exile with the entire city believing him to be a criminal / hunting him?
