At this moment in time I have no use for one. That may change in the future.

Got a netbook (two in fact, one's in work) which I'd have far more use for

I have just spent a small fortune on two i7 iMacs so will delay it as long as possible. Maybe even 2nd Gen. I will be into an Apple store once they are about to discuss how I can justify getting one. Once I have upgraded my wifi I think that then will be the time for me to buy.

From what I've seen of first generation products from Apple, whilst they're good and serve a function, are often eclipsed by their successors.
The iPhone is a good example, and to an extent the original MacBook which was only Core Duo and hence 32 bit, and as such has seen some software limitations such as Java 6 not being available for it.

iVoted iPie
I would very much like the wi-fi model with the most storage but given the cost I cannot currently justify it, especially when other purchases are waiting paitently first (camera lens, lomo stuff, full desktop replacement (iMac???).....)

iPie for me. It is an interesting device, but I don't need one and have more important things that I need to buy first, so, like Heather, it is probably something that might one day end up in my collection, but it isn't currently planned.

I'll buy mine once I've played with it & been paid this month. However I might still get a 15" MBP to replace my macbook first.

Not for me. I see Nokia are currently suing Apple over 5 patent infringements for technology used in the iPhone and iPad clicky.

Nokia are basically suing everybody else. They believe they have a patent over part of the process involved in 3G connectivity, so they're suing everyone who has included 3G connections in their products. They could in theory have sued Apple at any point since the iPhone 3G but they've only just got around to it it seems.. Jon

I voted "not for me" the only thing I can think of to use it for is e-book reading, but I prefer real books too much to make it interesting at the moment, especially at those prices. The only thing I actually want at the moment is a little portable netbook, so I can carry on with the book wherever the mood takes me, however, there will need to be funds first!

They have licence agreements or cross-licensing agreements with just about every other manufacturer. They were in negotiations with Apple for a couple of years, before they finally decided to sue...

No thanks. I'm trying to change my life, and I don't need any more tech. I hope everyone else enjoys theirs.

For the money I think I'd find a macmini much more useful. Shame I can't afford either at the moment (and quite probably for some considerable time to come ) Definitely not in the early adopter brigade. The iPad, while undeniably good looking and functional for some people, doesn't offer anything I see myself using at the moment.

if the low end ipad is your spending limit, a MacMini would be no use at all since you wouldn't have a keyboard, mouse or monitor . if you're comparing a MacMini to the iPad, your budget should probably actually be nearer 650 quid, which is much more like serious money and you should also then be considering going a bit further for the low end macbook..

iPie.
I'd get one if I had a lot of spare cash though, purely because of my Shiny Thing addiction. A new smartphone is top of my current gadget list at the moment.
