We've all noticed the price increase of some PC components and it particularly interests me to see in CPC that the budget PC is now over 25% pricier than a year ago and so are the mid and performance PC's. Is this down to the poor £, having to pay more money for better performance or a general hick in component prices due to manufacturing prices.

proportionally do you get more bang per buck now…..

What are you thoughts?

To get more bang for buck now, you'd need to be getting in excess of 25% more bang, than a year ago.

In which case, no. I don't think you do.

Most consumer/luxury goods have become more expensive over the past 12-18mths. It's the just the situation were in as a a global, capitalist economy.

It might have something to do with the fact that last year there was an oversupply of memory in the market. This made prices lower than they should have been. Now that the memory supply has been corrected the market has readjusted itself.

What's budget?

The OP is talking about budget recommendations by CPC mag, so not business spec.
