It's only 26*C at the moment, but I'm sweating like a pig. My sister has stolen my fan, so I'm looking at another one.

Except I keep looking at this: clicky

Basically it's the Dyson Air Multiplier fan. For £200. Deciding whether it's actually worth buying.

Has anyone seen these in action or bought one?

Yeah, saw one in Costco and it does pump out a reasonable amount of air...but I don't see the point of one over a normal fan. It looks fancy but you can get a much more powerful fan for much less.

For that kind of money you could buy a cheap free standing air-con unit.

I think your choice of thread title said it all.

+1 That said the Dyson is apparently very quiet.

No leave a decapitated horses head on the pillow. It sends a signal that you are not to be trifled with.

Meh, if you like it, buy it. It's probably going to become a bit of a design classic, so it could be an investment.

I'm not gonna steal it back. I was gonna buy a better fan.

I think I'd best see one of these in action. I don't want just quiet but powerful too.

No leave some sponge fingers, custard, jelly and whipped cream on the pillow. It sends a signal that you are not to be trifled with.

Corrected

If I could afford it I'd have it just for the design :D

I have noticed during the Formula One that all the drivers use venturi aspirator based fans now.

The idea is genius and if there are as quiet as people say then I'd also be tempted :D

I like the design as well but £200 is a bit steep when I have a fan for a fraction of that.

I definately agree. Thats why I put the afford it bit in. And I dont mean just to have a spare £200. I mean if I had a spare £200 with absolutely bugger all else better to spend it on. (which is never) :D
