Well said, it's the very reason I have comments turned off when reading engadgets posts, if it's not about apple vs everyone it's flash flames. It gets rather tedious reading the same tripe. I'm all up for debate and given the right argument am open to changing my mind. I'm looking forward to opera for the iPad, wasn't impressed by it on the iPhone.

No, mac safari is the same as Windows Safari, pretty much. Tabbed browsing and full-screen youtube HTML5 support.

Well, I got mine today. I wasn't planning on getting one today, but here I am with one. It will be useful as I have work that will get rather iPad focussed, gut mostly I got it because I like the small form factor and I can use it without the weight of a laptop all the time when I am away from my main Mac.
So far, I have a drawing app on it. Rather nice to be able to sketch with it. Easier than the iPhone.

Writing this on the work iPad. It's nice. Safari doesn't have tabs but there's a button you hit that takes you to a page of thumbnail pages that you have open. That's really the only difference in the browser that I've come across. To be honest it's not a problem at all.

Bad idea. When I scroll down with a trackpad the cursor gets stuck on Flash objects.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

HTML5 video FTW! I haven't found anywhere selling the iPad yet... The nearest Apple Store is Lakeside, 4 countries and about 8 hours away. None of the general electrical retail stores that carry Apple stuff have iPads.

Is that the minimum distance to avoid being caught in the reality distortion field?

Yeah, I've seen a few sites that are deadly for that - I figured something like that would make it a bad idea

My copy of MacUser arrived today and it mentioned that Flash was the biggest reason for macs crashing. I have one of my iMacs running 24/7 and it still has not crashed since the day I bought it. Only only a month now but still problem free.

Flash doesn't crash my Mac, it kills browsers most of the time. A lot of people seem to think an application choking is the same as bringing the whole machine tumbling down. This isn't 1998 any more.
Flash blockers FTW.
