AMOLED will take off in mobiles over the next couple of years. I expect that the 5G iPhone will have it. Cost as been a problem so far.

Doesn't Google phone and HTC's Desire, Incredible and Evo have Amoled displays? I am pretty sure they do...

Yes, and others. I've got a Samsung Tocco Ultra (S8300) about 1 year old which was one of the earlier phones to include OLED. Only a 3" touchscreen though. I'm now counting down the 6 months until I can get a proper web-browsing phone.

Yes and I was hoping it would be in the next iPhone. It will be another year if they do not put it in this time and the rest of the market will be AMOLED by then, with better screens and colours.

I have read the reviews and apparently it can be difficult to read outside in direct sunlight. How do you find it?

Fine.
Sure it's a bit harder to read in direct sunlight, but then what isn't? It's still perfectly usable though.
