There was a discussion about the emergency call button. Most thought that it could be to a family member, Marklar had it programmed to a local pizza place IIRC.

I'm not convinced that the new iPhone's hardware will be significantly faster, if faster at all, than the 3GS.
The brand spaking iPad uses Apple's A4 - and the A4 uses the same CPU as the 3GS. I would imagine that the expected iPhone 4 will also use the A4 - so the same CPU as the 3GS.
Yeah true, it is 1GHz in the iPad. I'd really doubt they put a 1GHz chip into the next iPhone - surely it's going to pump out too much heat and need too much juice?
Heat possibly would be an issue but I think battery is a more borderline thing. The iPad has a 10 hour 'talk time' battery life but it has a screen that's four times as big as a phone's. However it also has two fairly hefty batteries in it. I think a 1Ghz A4 chip could just manage in a phone that lasted a day of medium to heavy use between charges. IIRC that's not quite as good as the 3GS but I think people might accept that if the 4G is significantly faster and has a significantly higher res display.
I'm not so sure people will. I, for one, want longer battery AND better performance.
However, given the choice I would say that I would want battery life over performance at this stage. I have the 3G so if the 4G brings me a 10% increase in performance and a substantial increase in battery I'll be happy.
