you can do this on the prosilver skin. there are quote buttons in the topic review, and when you click them they are added to your post tbh the other skins arent worth using yet, there are just so many features missing in some of them

Cool. Didn't realise that. Had been using subsilver I think.
Why are the features not standard across all skins?

Could we have a 'Bargains' or 'Sales!' sticky thread/section? The sort of thing where you'd post links to good deals you'd found, or details of shops that had good sales on etc, with details of when a sale ends (and so on) where possible. It's just that being a complete geek means I come across a lot of sites and shops with really good deals Or you could use it to also ask where to get a particular item cheap, instead of starting up a whole new thread just for that purpose... Anybody else think this would be a good idea?

How bout a summary of all the suggestions so people don't keep asking for the same thing? I swear I've seen at least five posts about a trading section and it's driving me nuts!

I'm sorry to be pedantic, but could the new board be called "Internet", rather than "Internet forum", please? We know it's a forum, all of the other forums don't have that suffix.
Peter.

Sure, I'll do it first thing as I'm off to bed now. Personally I'd still like to see the Networking and Internet forums merged.

I agree totally. It's just coming up with a sensible title. I think generally speaking, the fewer sections the better. Having too many just makes it even harder to know where to post a new topic. If I have a problem with my Internet router, I may not know if it's an Internet problem or a network problem. To be honest, I'd be quite happy with a single "Help!" forum covering everything. This place just isn't busy enough to warrant lots of sub-sections. Compare Experts-Exchange to PCpro. PCpro has a single Help forum which gets about 5 posts a day. It covers hardware, networking, coding, business software and many other subjects. Experts Exchange has thousands of posts a day, split across dozens of sections. They need a separate forum for CYGWIN and VMware et al because there are experts that specialise and there are enough questions to keep them busy. Here I think we have a vague split of expertise in: Apple / Microsoft / Linux / Hardware / Networking / Coding / Design Perhaps we need a thread to identify what people feel able to help in? I'm off to start a poll

I've been thinking this. The Mac boards could be merged, as could the PC boards, or at least be better named to Hardware help and Windows help, as Linux and Mac run on PC's and Macs have their own section, as does Linux on the Open Source board. Coding would be a nice addition, we've had a couple of coding questions which have appeared in the PC Software board and in the Open Source board...

I did actually suggest this a while back, and said it could be called Networking/Internet. Edit to add: Here's the quote from the updates thread:

Absolutely. I hate forums with too many sections, and it's not as if we are a particularly busy forum. I think that so far as the help forums go, the software and hardware forums could be merged into Windows help and Mac help.

Another suggestion. The rather arbitary limit of 10 options for polls?
I find it annoying. We've had a lot of polls which have been split into two or more, or rendered slightly worthless, so can we increase it? 25 seems like a more suitable number to me. It still fits on most people's screens, but would reduce the annoyance factor enormously.
