I cant see why not. There is nothing new that might push the data rates up apart from iAds.

No word from O2 yet but I don't see why it shouldn't. The only new thing that'd be a 3G hog is the video chat and that only works over wifi (and, frankly, I think they're making much more of that than it's worth; I don't know anyone who does video calls on their phone very much). The only kicker may be if you're on the 20 quid a month 'given to people to stop them leaving' tariff. If you're upgrading to an iPhone 4, they could technically insist it's a new contract and that you should sign up for one of the 'normal' iPhone tariffs instead.

Black 16GB version for me please. (8+)

Mark

I will opt for 32Gb black. The extra £50 for the 16 Gb looks good value. I am not planning to upgrade for a number of years so will give me plenty of life. I also have a few films that can be played and podcasts etc so it will be most practical for me. Though will it be the same price?

Yes but the video calls are iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 only, so even over wifi they cost that much less to service. Wifi is a lot cheaper than 3G but it is a great selling point for contracts that include it. I am looking at using Skype on my iPhone, and with the option of always on Skype that is a real plus.

+1 more; conveniently, my 3G contract runs out at the end of the month :)

Pete

+1 My contract ran out about 2 months ago and I've been able to upgrade since January.

I can't wait!

It's over wifi, it costs absolutely nothing for O2 to service. If it's over 'public' wifi (e,g, in a starbucks or something) it may cost you something to get access to the wifi but if you're at home it'll cost you nothing, assuming it doesn't take you over any broadbandbandwidth limit you may have. And it's unlikely to do that, because at the end of the day it's only VGA res H264 at a fairly low framerate by the looks of things.

Oh aye? I've requested an unlock on my existing phone so I can pass it on when I upgrade but how do you get a microsim out of them?

Register your interest on the O2 site & tick the "at launch" button

I made a mistake wifi is much cheaper for the networks to support even if it is paying money to the Cloud etc.
