I know. But with the world and life being so sh!t these days, I think we can let them have their bit of fun.

Of course, no, I'm happy for people to get excited about things. Phones have just never done it for me though. Go forth and enjoy.

Looks really good. Hopefully I can buy one on PAYG and transfer my Simplicity contract on to the new microSIM. Though my 3G does everything I need it to.

I'd also like that but it all depends on the cost of the contract-free handset. Mark

Why does the video calling need wi-fi? The rest of the industry has managed video calls from 3G phones for the best part of a decade without needing to resort to wi-fi... Why can't they just use the same standard as everybody else? Fine, enable iChat as well, over wi-fi, but why not 3G video-calling like every bargain basement Nokia seems to do?

They always miss out features or restrict something so they can release a later version and re-sell it to the same people. You gotta admire the marketing genius but it is a bit of a trick.

I was thinking of the iPad as an editing device - bigger screen, more space etc... got to be better than faffing about editing video on a phone, surely? As for getting the vid in there, then the camera connection kit would do the job, otherwise the usual suspects, I guess - iTunes, DropBox, iDisk etc... I still think a front-facing webcam would be a good idea, but no, not a rear-facing camera, that'd just be silly; tripod mount, anyone?? Now, a camera-connection-sized webcam that fitted into the dock connector and worked with Skype, FaceTime or whatever, that'd be a neat trick; wonder if we'll see something like that when iPad gets iOS4..? Cheers, Pete

Nexus One already has it I thought that was the whole point of their promotional videos. And how many have poor quality connections? I can imagine coffee shops disable these kind of services due to bandwidth limiting for other users. I think it was because Android devices have it on 3G now, it's not amazing apparently on 3G, little pixelated at times but works and is more importantly FREE

For other tech spec comparisons there is a good list here. ClickyHowever I am so shallow the glass body and 9mm depth does it for me. Also missing from the tech specs are "ease of use" and "Mac compatibility" which are major selling points for me. Also I just can't be arsed setting up Email and such on these things I want all my music, photos, contacts, bookmarks, videos, notes, podcasts subscriptions, applications, audio notes, passwords manager and other stuff brought over with just one click. So I know what I will be drooling over when I next make my pilgrimage to the Apple store. Till such time as I get rich it will have to stay a dream though. Though iOS 4 will be coming out soon so some of the cool features will be coming my way.

Surely it will sync with the Mail app on your MAC. I'm sure that option is there already.

I think there's probably better free wi-fi coverage where I live than 3G network coverage (and I'm on 3 for my mobile). Not a bad thing, IMHO, and I thought there was a reference to sorting things out for video calling with the networks, wasn't there?

It does all of that syncing already. What I am saying is that I am enamoured with iOS because I find it easy for a lazy puss like me. I am not sure that Win 7, or Android, or Symbian would serve my needs quite as well.
