Take-Two has just confirmed during an investors call that Max Payne 3 will not be released in this fiscal year.

This means the game won't see the light of day before April 2011. The firm said that while pushing the game's release back isn't ideal the later-than-expected release of Red Dead Redemption, which has seen huge success since its May release, demonstrates the importance of giving a game the best possible release window.

MP3 was originally expected out in late 2010 on PS3, 360 and PC.

It will likely use the extra time to further improve the game, the firm going on to say that the team at Rockstar is focused on creating the best possible experience with Max Payne 3.
