My oh my, can the French get any worse?
Absolutely terrible - and a boring game.

Yep, iplayer was shocking tonight, and I never liked ITV's player, so I took Jon's tip and watched it on TVcatchup - no suttering or buffering issues at all. Nice one Jon. It's a shame the match was so dull.

The French are dreadful and will remain so until Domenech gets the hook. Given the games today I think it's very possible they may not qualify out of the group. Uruguay weren't much better to be honest and I can see Mexico and South Africa winning at least one of their remaining games each, which will make if hard for the French to get into the top two...

Probably but I thought it was a great match when you look at it in relation to the usual opening matches we have to suffer. True, his substitutions made no sense, Henry for Anelka, how will swapping one striker for another make any sense in that situation, they both needed to be on. I think Henry has been reading the 'Big Book of Penalties' and got it wrapped round the wrong way. No Henry, yours was handball, his was ball to hand. Talking of which I think the refs and assistant refs in both games had terrific matches and made some great calls, particularly the offside call against Mexico. Many would have just seen a player on the line and considered the Mexican onside without taking into account the position of the goalkeeper. I was hoping Uraguay may sneak it, the French looked woeful. Irrespective of their performance they just didn't look like they wanted to be there. As for the vuvuzelas, I didn't notice them quite as much in the second match, no doubt because South Africa weren't playing. At least you could hear the commentators in that match.

I used to. TBH I used to feel more nervous if we went 1-0 up as we always had the habit of then dropping back and playing deep. Not as much with the new manager. All World Cup matches are tricky, US have a few Premier League players, but so long as we score 1 more than them and so long as they show they want to be there that'll do me .

I have south Korea in the office sweepstakes. . Greece were utterly shocking. If they're going to play like that for three games I'd rather their place had gone to someone else.

Any chance the "technical problem" can get rid of Mick McCarthy - he's one of the worst commentators I've ever heard - talk about a monotonous voice..

At least he talks sense. I've lost count of the number of time I've nearly kicked my TV in when David Pleat makes a stupid pointless comment on ITV. Hopefully he won't show his face for the World Cup.

Who else is watching the Argies play Nigeria?
The Nigerian keeper is making some great saves! Argentina could have scored 4 or 5.

I gave up on Arg v Nigeria game after 60 minutes. This is shockingly poor start into the tournament in terms of footballing quality by all teams I have seen. I hope it will get going soon.
In the mean time I will do some revision before the England game, I have an exam on Tuesdays.
