I've double booked this evening at 2 different World Cup watching things.

One of them is at my friends house where there will be drinking etc...

The other is at my bosses house where there will also be drinking but there will be food and cake and also the cock who I work with (see my Sanity Check thread).

I was asked to my friend's do first and if it wasn't for the cock I get on with both groups of people equally well.

It has come to the point where I need to decide what to do.

Any ideas?!

mixing drink with a boss you don't like out of work hours is in my opinion very dangerous. The temptation, at some point during the evening, may prove to great. :D

Go to your mates do and relax and enjoy.

I didn't think there was an issue with the boss, just one of the colleagues who will be there.

However although you may have fun with your workmates, I think you will have more fun elsewhere.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Have you actually accepted both invitations as in; are they expecting you?

Also known as "a prior engagement", the excuse to which there is no valid objection.

As others have said, go relax with your mates.

Is there an American(s) at either?? If so, go where the American(s) will be for added entertainment. :)

Go to your mate's house.

I remember our MD, years ago at the xmas party, walking round with the same bottle of Bud all night, listening in as people's tongues loosened through drink. Complete tw@t.

I'm not suggesting your boss is like that, but theres no chance of that if you drinking with your mates, and you won't have to endure the temptation to give the"cock" a kicking.

I was drunk too at this party and they still irritate the f**k out of me with their self centered arrogance.

You have to remember that when compared to most western nations, the US is still a spotty but spoiled teenager. We should treat them with the same level of disregard, in my opinion.
