Option of a slide out qwerty keyboard like their current keyboards with low travel keys and I'd probably get one, it's the main factor for choosing a phone for me currently, the benefit of a hardware keyboard is worth it for me

I know one of the major problems (in America at least) is that the iPhone does not run on every network. I believe that chips are in the pipe that can connect to differing types of network. If so then the next iPhone may well tout such a chip.

Yes but that will be a US only solution, the rest of the world uses GSM.

The US isn't the only country that doesn't use GSM.
I'm pretty sure China doesn't (I think they use an obscure CDMA based technology), and I know that New Zealand has two networks - one GSM and one CDMA.
There are almost certainly others around the world, too.

Japan = GSM Korea (north & south) = GSM plus 198 other countries (this includes a gsm roaming service but doesnt include GSm sattilite coverge) CHina has a GSM network as well (China Unicorn and China Mobile systems) http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/index.shtml
