When does all of this end? The pubs are full of football.
I've just watched the first part of the SPN-HON game, and I must admit I still don't see the appeal... I recon if the rules were changed to allow as much shoving/kicking/punching as the players liked, and if fouls/missed goals carried the penalty of having a finger/toe nail pulled out, then it might be more interesting...

There is a Football dislike thread rattling around somewhere.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Once in every 4 years, stop whinging. Edit: I think Spain will regret only scoring 2.

It might be more of a football disinterest thread. Oops I found the hate/disinterest thread.

So, inside 30 minutes France are a man and a goal down. Not exactly a great start for a must-win game.

Come on South Africa! This second half could be incredible - the South Africans did look likely to score again, and if the Uruguayans do them a favour they'll be laughing.

2-1, goal difference is going to do them. A record is closer to being broken, first ever home nation to be knocked out in the group stages...

What an idiot Domenech is! Refusing to shake the south African coaches hand at the end of the game just about tops it all off really.

Domenech. Complete merd a la tete....
Seriously, he's like a 4 year old.
The French must be overjoyed that he's leaving the job. I know I am.

Yes and apparently they are all flying back to France in economy class.

Yeah, they didn't put up a fight at all. Kind of sums up the tournament to be honest, nobody really seems to have the passion.

You're joking right? Looks how the South Africans played earlier on, or how the South Koreans and Nigerians went at it this evening. The North Koreans basically have said 'sod it' and attacked everybody, including Brazil. Chile have barely bothered to defend all tournament. Or even US vs Slovenia, not high on quality but both teams basically throwing the kitchen sink at each other. Just because the Greeks & Swiss play defensively that's patently not a general problem. Most of the European teams have been cautious but the emerging nations have been positive and the South Americans don't seem to want to defend unless they absolutely have to.
