Couldn't provide hairs of 3cm or longer for drug testing purposes...

The lawyer replied that they would now use other methods of DNA testing.

 Erm, wtf? What has DNA testing got to do with a drugs test?

Couldn't provide 200 body hairs either. This guy should give up on the Police and become an Olympic swimmer.

The only thing that a hair test will show is drug use. Cannabis can stay in hair for around six months. That is why there has been a surge in other drugs used in prison because random drug testing does not show their presence.

I thought it was cocaine.

Cocaine I think can be detected up to three days apparently. Some how cannabis binds to the hair much more thoroughly.

I went to a job interview at Budweiser and was told if I got to the second stage I would be asked to submit to a drugs test and if for any "reason" (such as taking drugs  ) it would be better if I didnt accept the second interview. To which I replied that I was ok with this policy but I would fail most of the tests they would do. The HR women had a lovely picture of abject horror mixed up with suprise that someone would say such a thing.
I then replied as I (was currently then) working in a drugs manufacturing facility that produced Amphetamine, benzodiazapam, codiene, hormone and steroid based medcines amongst other things that it would be a suprise if I actually passed any drug test    It was one of the reasons that work place never introduced drug tests as everyone would fail all the time!

I had a mate who was a fireman who had a similar issue when trying to get a US visa (not a work one)

One of the questions was “Are you trained in the handling of dangerous chemicals” to which his answer was yes

He spent two hours in a small room in the embassy with a couple of goons asking them same question – “Why are you trained?” to which his answer was “Because I’m a Fireman and that’s my job”

Systems are almost never designed to handle anything that is not within the “normal range” and then people often slavishly try and follow them
