Ryanair passengers left without food or water for six hours

Quote:
Furious Scots passengers were left without food and water after a Ryan air plane packed full of holidaymakers was stranded on the tarmac for six hours.

Travellers said the airline refused to serve them drinks from the onboard trolleys despite the air conditioning being turned off during their ordeal at Prestwick Airport yesterday.

Passengers said insult was added to injury after staff were seen drinking themselves and water was apparently brought on for the pilot.

Police eventually came to the rescue, providing bottles of water and chocolate bars from the terminal building for the 160 holidaymakers.

The flight, grounded by a French air-traffic control strike, was eventually cleared to depart for Girona in Spain.

The complaints about yesterday’s flight come just weeks after Ryanair chief Michael O’Leary tried unsuccessfully to dodge payouts for flights disrupted by the volcanic ash cloud.

Thats what comes of flying Ryanair.

Nonsense, it could happen with any airline and I've had something similar flying with Virgin Atlantic.

Took off from Hong Kong, flaps failed to retract fully, 90 minutes dumping fuel over the South China Sea, emergency landing back at Hong Kong (luckily the new airport), and then 5 hours stuck in the plane whilst they fixed the problem. No drinks until almost 4 hours into the wait, and even then it was only juice or water, and no food. Then when the plane was ready, we had another 1 hour delay whilst the flight crew were replaced otherwise they would have exceeded their maximum hours. Couldn't get off the plane at all so what should have been 24 hours travelling became over 32.

YouTube of the Landing.

Shame it was in the middle of the night otherwise I would have got a clip of the fuel dump as well.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

There are rules in Europe about the responsibilities of airlines. Airlines from outside do not have to comply but they do while in Europe I think.

It is rules that prevent the bar being opened whilst the aircraft is on the ground.

It doesn't matter what airline it is, after a certain period of time you have to be given food and water.
