Very pleased to see Ghana go through, two lovely goals. Great to see an African side get to the QFs, one of the reasons why I'm glad we're facing Germany. TBH I have a lot of respect for the US side, in all of their matches they keep on going and never give up. I think they've been underrated by many, they've had some good results over the past couple of years and are damned dogged. I wouldn't be surprised if they just go from strength to strength over the next few years, especially if desire for the sport on TV matches that in the general public. It is the most played College sport in the US afterall. Today: Can't wait. Germany always put out a good side at the World Cup and we generally have good matches. Hopefully we'll have another today. Edit: Germany in trouble with FIFA for not fulfilling their media duties by their manager refusing to go to the pre-match media conference.

Well, considering that was the score last time we met them in a competitive international match it's not impossible. Hopefully another drubbing so I don't have a heart attack. I really want to meet Argentina, that's my main reason for really wanting to win today.

What is it about the commentators that the BBC choose for MOTD? They all seem to turn into dribbling idiots. I've taken advantage of the 5Live commentary on the red button and it's much, much better. They also have the vuvuzelas considerably lower in the mix, which is a bonus.

Cheers for the heads up on the commentary by the way Jon, I've switched too and although the sound quality isn't as good it's far more mature and detailed.
The telly commentary really irritates me - they just repeat name after name as the ball is moved around!

The commentary is a lot better on there, if only they could sync iPlayer TV live with iPLayer 5 Live. As it is the Radio is about 10 seconds in front of the TV.

Well the krauts are two goals up, and might have been three up. 5-1 anybody?

You mean England might get one? Doesn't look likely.
