jonbwfc I was behind her in a queue today - but I wouldn't describe it as 'bushy'.

Haha! I'm quite looking forward to James Corden's show tonight, I'm sure they have something planned for this eventuality!

I'm absolutely loving the 5live commentary now-you can hear the disgust in their voices and they are rightly lashing the England players.

They also laid blame on the media.

That was a perfectly fair comment IMO - it was primarlily the media who hyped up the team's chances, most people I knew never thought we would win the cup.

The issue is that they were laying blame on the media as though they themselves were somehow exempt. TV and Radio can't hold their heads up high, not when there is more coverage and punditry than game.

Please spare a thought for those of us who have German girlfriends. The smugness is unbearable.

That said, at least I wasn't bored

Well, let the inquest begin.
I personally think Capello will be hung out to dry, which is a shame - I don't think it's his fault at the end of the day.

Quite. Not much he can do if 'Big ego, smaller talent' John Terry decides he's going to play centre forward - because obviously he's going to score a goal and get england back level - and is therefore 70 sodding yards out of position when Germany break on us. Who exactly was it on here said he was the best centre half in the world? He's not even the best centre half in his house.

Frankly the vast majority of that lot need to get dumped. They're going to be too old even in two years at the Euros and they're not as good as they or the sycophantic press make them out to be. Promote the under 21's (who at least got to the final of the last tournament they played) and tell the likes of Lampard and Gerrard that they've had their chances and they blew them all.

Even if Lampards goal was awarded, so the f*ck what, that's still 4-2.
*Shrug*

That isn't true and never has been with disallowed goals. If the score is 2-2 rather than 2-1, England wouldn't have been throwing men forward and the Germans wouldn't have the space & numbers over to break forward with. It's a cliche but it's true - goals change games.

I have no idea whether Germany would have gone on to win the game anyway; given the previous evidence I think it would be the most likely result but I don't know. But anyone who knows football knows if Lampard's 'goal' gets given, the game doesn't proceed as it did without that happening.

There's a very risque joke there but I'm going to avoid it.

That's true, of course, but I still think the Germans thoroughly deserved their win, and I reckon they still would have won if it was given.

If it comes down to the England fans blaming a refereeing decision that might have changed the game, then that's laughable.

I switched my TV on just in time for the last moments and Gary and the lads ripping the team a new one. Found it hilarious! Especially when one of them was talking about how you wouldn't even see defending that bad with 10 year olds on a Sunday morning

Then Fabio says "they played well". This country's always been [LIFTED] at most sports, but to say they played well is not just romantic, patriotic or optimistic - it's a downright lie. Hopefully, the flags will come down and pint consumption and the ensuing lairyness (sp?) will fall now.

Welcome back to the best run of summer weather of the millenium.

We're actually pretty good as cricket at the mo. Or maybe the Aussies are just rubbish, not sure :).

Rusty : The joke is along the lines of 'well at least you're one bloke who doesn't mind being screwed by the Germans' or something similar to that..
